What makes a well built deck?
Updated: Aug 16, 2021
To build a proper deck that will stand the test of time and be a healthy add-on to your home, there are a few key factors to consider.
-What type of footing or base will I use?
-Will I secure to the house, and if so, how?
-What size of lumber should I use to frame?
-What material should I use for my decking?
-And most importantly, how will the deck that I build effect the homes health? Will the height or slope of the new deck cause water infiltration? Will the way I secure it to the home cause brick or siding to rip off of the home, and lead to an eventual deck failure?
Unfortunately, so many fly by night builders out there lack the experience to correctly address and calculate these crucial factors. leaving the home owners to pay the price.
An experienced deck builder or contractor is always a wise investment, At Espace Unik we will always take all factors into consideration, to deliver a new deck that is free from defect and can stand the test of time.
